    Parking permit and prices

    The cost of the 2025-26 permits is listed below:

    Nights and weekends - (Valid after 4 pm on weekdays and all day on weekends). Available as an annual or semester permit. $312

    IMPORTANT: Students with an unpaid parking citation balance may not purchase a parking permit until such balance is paid. Payment can be made by accessing your parking portal. Winter and summer storage

    Parking During Winter and Summer Breaks (Resident Students Only)

    Vehicles may be stored in a designated parking garage on campus during the winter and summer breaks. A request must be submitted to the Office of Parking & Transportation to coordinate storage.

    • Winter break storage is available the week of Fall Commencement through the opening day of student housing in January. There is no in/out access during the winter break.
    • Summer break storage is available from the week of Spring commencement through the opening day of student housing in August. There is only in/out access between 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
    • Approval must be granted to store a vehicle in this garage over the break.
    • A valid UM parking permit is required.
    • Vehicles must be parked with the license plate displayed toward the driving lane.
    • Commuter students are not permitted to store their vehicles on campus.

    Service and Delivery Supplier - Guidelines

    All suppliers must follow the established responsible practices that comply with the University’s guidelines and the ordinances of the City of Coral Gables. 

    All vehicles parked on campus are required to have a valid UM parking permit and must park head-in only. Campus parking is strictly enforced Monday through Sunday, 24/7. 

    Contractor Parking

    To assist with parking requests for contractors on the Coral Gables campus, please submit your request below. Parking assignments are based on availability.

    Long Term Parking

    Annual vendor, contractor, and visitor permits are available. Contact Parking and Transportation via email or visit us at McKnight Building, 5807 Suite 100, Ponce de Leon Boulevard, Coral Gables, Florida.

    Short Term Parking

    Metered spaces are reserved for university visitors. See the below options for short-term parking. 

  • Visitors

    Campus Parking

    Campus parking is strictly enforced Monday through Sunday, 24/7, and vehicles must park head-in only.

    Visitors should follow the instructions provided by the school, department, venue, or event organizer. Alternatively, the following options are available.

    Visit our parking portal to purchase an advance day pass.

    Daytime Visitors (M-F 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.):

    • Visitors may park at designated metered spaces using PayByPhone or a Pay Station. Using these options automatically registers the vehicle's license plate with the university's parking system.
    • Metered spaces are located at the Pavia and Levante Garage "visitors" section only, Memorial Drive (by Richter Library), and the Yellow, Gray, and Burgundy color zones. 
    • If the vehicle is moved between color zones, a new parking session must be initiated.

    Nights and Weekends Visitors (M-F 4 p.m. - 11 p.m. and Weekends 8 a.m. - 11 p.m.):

    • Visitors may pay to park using PayByPhone or a Pay Station to register their vehicles' license plates with the university's parking system.
    • All parking lots and garages (except service and restricted spaces) are available for parking.
    • A parking session is valid in any color zone and the vehicle can be moved between parking lots and garages without having to initiate a new parking session.

    Payment Options:

    Meter Systems (PayByPhone or Pay Stations)

    • Hourly - $2.75
    • Daily - $13.00 (4 hours or more)
    • There's a $0.25 cents transaction fee when extending a parking session from a Pay Station via phone.

    Parking Portal

    • Purchase a daily parking permit in advance at $13. The parking session is valid all day from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.

    All pay-by-phone/pay station transactions now include a $0.35 cents transaction fee. All parking sessions are to be paid for with a bank card only. Cash is not accepted.

    Long-Term Parking

    Long-term parking is not intended for storage.
